Edith Van Dyne AUNT JANE'S NIECES - Complete 10 Book Collection

Aunt Jane's Nieces Series is a collection of ten novels designed for young adolescent girls written under the pseudonym Edith Van Dyne. Jane Merrick is a wealthy, elderly, difficult invalid woman who is preparing for her approaching death. In her youth, she inherited her money and estate from her fiancé, Thomas Bradley, who died before their wedding took place. With no children of her own, she calls for her three teenaged nieces to visit her, so she can decide who will inherit her estate. They are Louise Merrick, Elizabeth De Graf, and Patsy Doyle, children of Jane's younger brother and sisters. Each of the three cousins is a different type. It was the author's second greatest series, but towards the end of Baum's life they outsold the Oz books. L. Frank Baum (1856-1919) was an American author chiefly known for his children's books. Table of Contents: Aunt Jane's Nieces Aunt Jane's Nieces Abroad Aunt Jane's Nieces at Millville Aunt Jane's Nieces at Work Aunt Jane's Nieces in Society Aunt Jane's Nieces and Uncle John Aunt Jane's Nieces on Vacation Aunt Jane's Nieces on the Ranch Aunt Jane's Nieces Out West Aunt Jane's Nieces in the Red Cross

Edith Van Dyne THE MARY LOUISE SERIES (Mystery & Detective Books for Children)

The Mary Louise Series is a collection of four novels concerned with adolescent girl detectives written under the pseudonym Edith Van Dyne. The series began with Mary Louise, originally written as a tribute to Baum's favorite sister, Mary Louise Baum Brewster. She is a fifteen-year-old girl with unusual maturity (though the other girls in her boarding school find her somewhat priggish). She is suddenly confronted with the fact that her beloved grandfather is suspected of no less a crime than treason against the United States… The second book, Mary Louise in the Country, involves the struggle for Irish independence from Britain. Mary Louise and the Liberty Girls is concerned with the strong anti-German sentiments in the United States during World War I. L. Frank Baum (1856-1919) was an American author chiefly known for his children's books. Charlotte Bronte Jane Eyre + Wuthering Heights (2 Unabridged Classics)

This carefully crafted ebook: «Jane Eyre + Wuthering Heights (2 Unabridged Classics)» is formatted for your eReader with a functional and detailed table of contents. Charlotte Brontë's most beloved novel describes the passionate love between the courageous orphan Jane Eyre and the brilliant, brooding, and domineering Rochester. The loneliness and cruelty of Jane's childhood strengthens her natural independence and spirit, which prove invaluable when she takes a position as a governess at Thornfield Hall. But after she falls in love with her sardonic employer, her discovery of his terrible secret forces her to make a heart-wrenching choice. Ever since its publication in 1847, Jane Eyre has enthralled every kind of reader, from the most critical and cultivated to the youngest and most unabashedly romantic. It lives as one of the great triumphs of storytelling and as a moving and unforgettable portrayal of a woman's quest for self-respect. Born into a poor family and raised by an oppressive aunt, young Jane Eyre becomes the governess at Thornfield Manor to escape the confines of her life. There her fiery independence clashes with the brooding and mysterious nature of her employer, Mr. Rochester. But what begins as outright loathing slowly evolves into a passionate romance. When a terrible secret from Rochester's past threatens to tear the two apart, Jane must make an impossible choice: Should she follow her heart or walk away and lose her love forever? Considered by many to be Charlotte Brontë's masterpiece, Jane Eyre chronicles the passionate love between the independent and strong-willed orphan Jane Eyre and the dark, impassioned Mr. Rochester. Having endured a lonely and cruel childhood, orphan Jane Eyre, who is reared in the home of her heartless aunt prior to attending a boarding school with an equally torturous regime, is strengthened by these experiences.
